
Financial Assistance
Pennsylvania offers assistance and other services to people and families in need. Assistance available for eligible persons includes the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to help low-income households buy food, the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) to help offset gas and electric bills, as well as Cash Assistance, and Medical Assistance/Medicaid.
You can submit applications and renewals at your local county assistance office drop box or online using COMPASS. Caseworkers are available at the county assistance office to help you and answer your questions in person or over the phone, if the office is closed to the public.

The federal Social Security Administration (SSA) offers benefits to eligible persons that include Disability and Supplemental Security Income.
